    I spent the whole day fully enjoying the ocean around Yakushima! I took a leisurely paddle on a SUP and had a wonderful time snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters. They offered free rental of underwater digital cameras, so I was able to take lots of beautiful photos of tropical fish—I’m really happy with how it turned out.

    I took on Mt. Miyanoura, the highest peak in Kyushu. Since it was a private tour, the guide adjusted the pace to suit me, which was a big help, but as you’d expect from one of Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains, it was quite a challenging climb. I got a little worn out toward the end, so I’ll give it 4 stars. The views were spectacular.
