Yakusugiland
Yakusugiland is a typical hiking and trekking area in Yakushima where you can encounter Yakusugi cedars that are over 1,000 years old.
Located 1,000 meters above sea level, this forest of Yakusugi cedars was selected by Kagoshima Prefecture as one of the70 forest bathing forestsIt is also a "healing spot" where you can refresh your mind and body.
Kigen Cedar" said to be 3,000 years old
Kigen-sugi is one of the representative Yakushima cedars. While Wilson's stumps and Jomon cedars can only be seen by hiking up the mountain, Kigen cedars grow wild along the roadway and can be seen without hiking up the mountain.
You don't have to climb the mountain to see it.The "Kintetsu" is a spot that can be easily visited because it is a "Kintetsu" in Japanese!

The tour will visit Nagata Inaka Beach, a spawning spot for sea turtles, the Seibu Forest Road, a World Heritage site with subtropical vegetation, and souvenir shops on the island.

The guide's commentary was very interesting and we learned a lot about the history and nature of the Yakusugi cedars. The afternoon sightseeing tour on the island was also very fulfilling, and we were able to fully enjoy the beautiful nature of Yakushima, including Nagata Inaka Beach and the Seibu Forest Road. I was especially glad that the tour took into consideration my lack of confidence in my physical strength and allowed me to enjoy the tour without any difficulty. Since we traveled by car for most of the tour, I was able to fully experience the charm of the island without getting tired.

It was my first visit to Yakushima and I did not know much about the island, but our guide took us sightseeing around the island and we were able to visit some wonderful places. After all, the more knowledge you gain about a place or thing, the more enjoyable it becomes. Trekking in Yakusugiland was a relaxing natural experience, and the Kigen Cedars were breathtaking.
