What is "Wilson's Stock," which is about 3,000 years old?
It was logged about 400 years ago and is characterized by its hollowed-out interior. If you enter the cavity and look up at the sky, you can see the shape of a heart.
It is a popular power spot because of the heart shape that can be seen.
It is said that the Wilson strain was named in honor of Dr. Wilson, an American botanist who investigated the forests of Yakushima, and whose papers helped spread the name of Yakushima throughout the world.
Departing by bus at 5:40 a.m., it takes 4 hours to walk the trolley track, and even beginners can enjoy the nature of Yakushima at a leisurely pace with only a 30-minute walk on the mountain path!

Our guide was very kind and told us many interesting stories about the nature and history of Yakushima. I was overwhelmed by the beauty and the mystery of nature when I actually saw the heart-shaped hollow of Wilson's Stump. The trekking itself was just difficult enough for beginners to enjoy, and we were able to walk slowly and enjoy nature. Although the trek started early in the morning, we were able to walk in a quiet and sacred atmosphere and fully experience the great nature of Yakushima. The breakup of the tour at the breakup site after trekking was also smooth, and I am truly glad that I chose this tour.
