Q. Can I leave my luggage with you during the tour?

Not necessary, but usable if you have one; one is enough, and the roads are so narrow that it is difficult to use two.

Q. Can I join the tour in time after arriving at Yakushima Airport at 13:10?

Q. My tour to Yakusugiland ends at 12:30 p.m. I would like to join the tour in the afternoon.

Shiratani-unsui Gorge and Yakusugiland are quite far apart. Even with a rental car, it will take one and a half hours. It is possible if you can make it in time for the meeting.

Q. Is it possible to pick up and drop off at Samana Hotel Yakushima?

We do not provide transportation to and from the Samana Hotel.

I applied for this tour in the hope of experiencing the forests of Yakushima on a day trip using the morning and afternoon high speed boat between Tanegashima and Yakushima. Since half a day was too much time, we asked them to extend the trip from half a day to a full day so that we could maximize our time according to the time of the return boat. I think it was a good decision. Unfortunately, it was raining hard, but I felt it was essential to have a guide accompany us because there were rivers with rising water that we could have crossed only with the guide's lead, and because of the risk of my wife's accident on the steep, narrow, slippery trail. We were able to climb up to the bottom of the trail with short breaks in between and explanations at key points. The mossy forest was more vivid and visually stimulating with the rainwater. I enjoyed listening to the stories of Yakusugi cedar and moss. It was very mysterious. We had never trekked before and were not physically fit. We had never been trekking before and were not physically strong, so the tour guide was very helpful and gave us advice on how to proceed in a way that suited us. I participated in this tour with my 77-year-old mother. Although my mother's age limited the number of tours she could participate in, since the tour was a private one, she was guided at a pace that matched her own pace. Unfortunately, due to a route change caused by a typhoon in September, we could not go as far as the moss forest at my mother's pace, but we were able to enjoy the atmosphere and finish the tour happily even halfway through.
