This is a trekking tour where you can enjoy all the attractions of Shiratani-unsui Gorge: fantastic forests wrapped in moss, clear mountain streams, and virgin forests typical of Yakushima Island.

Since this is a chartered tour, participants can walk at their own pace and stamina, allowing even those with little mountaineering experience to participate.

What is the Hakutani Unsui Gorge Taikoiwa Course?

Shiratani Unsui Gorge is one of Yakushima's representative natural scenic spots, with clear streams and virgin forests covered in moss.

This is a trekking course for intermediate level trekkers who wish to enjoy both the fantastic forest, said to be the model for the setting of "Princess Mononoke," and the mossy forest and spectacular scenery.

After walking through virgin forests and clear streams, the magnificent view from Taikoiwa Rock will give you a sense of accomplishment! This course is ideal for those who want to experience the unique scenery of Yakushima and those who have a little confidence in their physical strength.

Walking distance: approx. 6 km / Elevation difference: approx. 450 m
