My 80 year old mother and my 50-something sister and I were guided by a guide. Because we were guided to Taikoiwa at a pace that was comfortable for our stamina, it took 7.5 hours, almost double the time written in the pamphlet, but thanks to that we were able to see a wonderful view that we will remember for the rest of our lives. I never thought I would actually be able to walk through that scenery I saw in the movie.... Even a half day was satisfying enough, and it was nice to be able to walk slowly while listening to the guide's stories.
