    It was my first time to visit Yakushima, and thanks to the excellent pacing of our experienced guide, we were able to avoid the crowds and trudge through the island. The ☕️ homemade bread while viewing the beautiful river was very delicious 🍞Thank you very much!

    I was glad I took the plunge and joined the tour even though I was alone. Unfortunately, we were not blessed with good weather for the view from Taikoiwa, but it was a good opportunity for me to come back again. I was able to enjoy the tour by myself without any problems, and I hope to return to the island within a year if possible and ask for a guide again.

    On April 17, seven of us, ranging in age from late 50s to mid 70s, joined the tour. We asked for two guides because we were worried that some of us might turn back on the way because it was a long trip, which we had never experienced before. We asked for two guides, one male and one female. At first we were told to reduce our luggage, but they were very helpful, carrying the backpack of a person who had a cramp in his leg and carrying the lunch box of a person who had heavy luggage. They lent us cushions when we needed to rest, provided warm miso soup for lunch, gave us compresses when we fell down, and gave us a lot of explanations and guidance. I was surprised that the female guide's luggage was so large, but I think she came equipped with a lot of things so that she could cope with anything. I realized that the strict instructions she gave us were necessary in order to take us all to the Jomon cedars with seven lives in our hands. We took the first bus up the mountain and ended up on the last bus, but the male guide ran ahead of us to the bus stop while trying not to rush us. We had a lot of fun with you two guiding us.     It was a wonderful experience. I really enjoyed the way he taught us the names of the birds by their calls. It was easy because he kept an eye on the pace of all the participants. The moss forest is definitely early in the morning!

    It was almost the first time for all of us to climb a mountain, but thanks to the guide's well-timed breaks, we were able to walk without any difficulty. Although some of the slopes were tough for beginners, we were all very satisfied with the spectacular view we had when we climbed Taikoiwa.

    All the members had never climbed a mountain before and were full of anxiety, but they all completed the trek. It was a very fulfilling first trek. We had heard that it was going to rain for 366 days in Yakushima, but the weather was perfect on the day of the trek, and Mr. Yaksachi, our guide, was the best! The guide's timing for breaks was perfect. Just when we thought it was getting tough on the steep uphill trail, he would say, "Take a break here. He explained about the plants there, took pictures, and offered us sheets. The explanations were very detailed and easy to understand, and even though we were beginners on Yakushima, we felt we learned a little more about the island. Above all, we were impressed by the way they loved nature and treated us politely. We were also very impressed with the photos they took and sent to us by air drop at the end of the tour. All the members were very satisfied and it was a great memory for all of us.
