Intermediate level] Yakushima Trekking Tour

This tour gave me a sense of "depth" that was different from conventional sightseeing. It was a valuable experience for me as a 30-something.

We participated in a group of four women (40-60 years old). Our guide was Ms. Sachi Takenouchi. She was very friendly and easy to talk to. The day before, the other three of us trekked to Jomon Cedars and I trekked to Yakusugiland, so on the day of the tour, I asked her to mainly focus on sightseeing in the Awa - Nanbu area. We were picked up at our lodge by a car and all the transportation was by that car, so we did not have to worry about bus time and it was safe and comfortable. Main sightseeing spots: Okawa Falls, Intermediate Banyan Tree, Sidoti Landing Site Observation Tower (church), Chihiro Falls, Troky Falls, Ryujin Falls, Botan Kan, Yakushima World Heritage Center, and Takeda Kan. We had told them where we wanted to go in advance, but on the day of the tour, they were willing to meet our sudden requests such as "I want to go to a local supermarket" and "I want to eat soft ice cream" and took us to the stores. Lunch place: Yakudon (fried flying fish and mini Tororo-don (grated yam on rice) were delicious) The guide gave us easy-to-understand explanations about each sightseeing spot, its history, and the location of Yakushima, using a clock face to represent the island. We were also able to hear interesting stories about how the guide moved to the island, the villages, and things unique to the island in the car. It was truly a completely customized tour, and we appreciate the attentive attention to detail from the customer's point of view. Thank you very much.
