As this was my first trip to Yakushima, there were many places I wanted to see and visit, but I was able to visit them all in the two days I requested. The time spent walking through the moss-covered forest was very pleasant, and I could concentrate only on the sounds of nature. The tour started early in the morning, but thanks to the guide's careful pacing, we were able to proceed at a comfortable pace. As we approached the Jomon cedars, I felt a change in the air and realized that the cedars were even more powerful than in the pictures. The fact that we were able to proceed at our own pace due to the private charter was very much appreciated. The overwhelming sight of the Jomon cedars made all the hard work worth it. However, the number of restrooms in the mountains was limited, and we would have appreciated more detailed information on pacing and timing of breaks.
