    Just like last year, we specifically requested this female guide. Since she fully understands our preferences and physical abilities, we were once again completely satisfied with the wonderful route she guided us on, which avoided the crowds.     My 15-year-old son and I hired a private guide and requested two separate trails over two days.　We thoroughly enjoyed trekking on both the Jomon Sugi Course and the Moss-Covered Forest to Taiko-iwa Course. Not only did the guide help us pace ourselves perfectly, but we also learned a great deal about the forest’s ecology, history, and the changes taking place on Yakushima.     Thanks to our guide’s expert assistance, we were able to safely complete the hike to the Jomon Sugi, a place I’d always dreamed of visiting. Since it was a private tour, it was wonderful to be able to proceed at our own pace without having to worry about other groups around us. It was a long journey, but the sense of accomplishment I felt when I saw that massive cedar tree, steeped in history, is indescribable. Thank you for this wonderful experience.

    Since I was traveling alone, I was a little worried about whether I’d be able to keep myself entertained during the long trek, but thanks to the guide, who chatted with me cheerfully the whole way, it turned out to be an absolutely fantastic journey!     Our guide, Mr. Yoshino, showed us around! He explained all sorts of plants and animals to us, which was very educational. He also made sure to pace the tour to fit our schedule.     The private tour plan, which adjusts the route to suit your physical condition, offers significant benefits. Although it was a long trek, the well-timed breaks at key points helped minimize fatigue. The Jomon Sugi’s presence was truly overwhelming. However, the spot where we ate our boxed lunches was a bit windy and chilly, so it would have been perfect if there had been a stronger reminder in advance to bring warm clothing.
