You can explore the Yakusugiland - Kigen Sugi course and tour the island in a guide's shuttle.
The tour will visit Nagata Inaka Beach, a spawning spot for sea turtles, the Seibu Forest Road, a World Heritage site with subtropical vegetation, and souvenir shops on the island.

I wasn’t confident in my physical stamina, but the Yakusugi Land trail—with its well-maintained boardwalk—and the Kigen-sugi trail, which is accessible by car, were perfect for me. I was able to fully enjoy the charm of Yakushima’s deep forests.
From Yakusugi Land—a symbol of Yakushima—to the Jigen Cedar, I was thoroughly satisfied with this easy-to-walk course. We had our children with us, and thanks to the guide’s entertaining stories, they walked energetically all the way to the end.

Yakusugi Land was a magnificent forest lined with giant trees. Since you can drive right up to the Kigen Cedar, even someone like me who isn’t very physically fit was able to fully enjoy Yakushima’s great outdoors, which was wonderful.
My wife and I took part in the tour together. The guide’s explanations about Yakushima’s history and vegetation were extremely interesting, making it a fulfilling trek that was much more than just a walk. The Kigen Cedar was truly breathtaking.
