The Jomon cedar is the symbol of Yakushima. It is said to be the oldest plant in the world, and is one of the largest and oldest Yakusugi cedar trees, being thick and large.

Although the trail is well maintained, it is a serious trek, taking about 10 hours to walk and 20 km round trip. Once in front of the large Jomon cedars, you will forget the fatigue of climbing and be mesmerized by their majestic appearance.
