Cancellation Policy
*If a reservation is cancelled for the customer's convenience, a cancellation fee will be charged as follows
7 to 2 days prior: 30%.
Day before or on the day of the event: 100%.Yakushima Island is "rain or shine" for normal rain (not alarm level). Cancellations due to rain will be subject to a cancellation fee.
However, no cancellation fee will be charged in the following cases
Weather conditions: When warnings of heavy rain, floods, storms, etc. are issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency.
Traffic restrictions: When prefectural roads and public roads leading to the trailhead are closed or blocked due to landslides, icing, flooding, etc.
Restrictions on use of facilities: When destinations such as Yakusugiland and Shiratani-unsui Gorge are closed due to administrative decisions, etc.
Cancellation of transportation: In the event that you are unable to arrive at the island due to a cancellation of your means of transportation (plane or boat) to Yakushima and your trip is cancelled.*Before arrival at the trailhead: If the tour is cancelled for any of the above reasons before arriving at the trailhead, even during pick-up, a full refund will be provided.
About eligibility requirements
*This is a private tour for 1–2 people, including women.
Self-reporting of health condition and pre-existing medical conditions
Trekking is a strenuous activity. In order to ensure the safety of the tour, please inform us at the time of registration if you fall into any of the following categories.Respiratory disease (asthma, bronchitis, COPD, hyperventilation syndrome, and other conditions that can cause breathing difficulties with exercise, altitude, or cold stimuli)
Visual impairment (e.g., narrowing of visual field), hearing impairment (e.g., deafness)
Heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, diabetes, severe allergies, etc.
If you are prescribed medication for a medical condition (e.g., inhalers to control asthma attacks), please bring it with you on the day of the event and have it readily available.
In the unlikely event that you forget to bring the necessary medication, we reserve the right to refuse your participation on the day of the event for safety reasons (it will be treated as a cancellation on the day of the event).Cancellation or refusal of participation
If the guide determines that your health condition (excessive lack of sleep, hangover, fever, obvious illness, etc.) on the day of the tour or your prior report makes it difficult for you to safely participate in the tour, the guide may refuse your participation on the day of the tour or may cancel the tour during the tour.Cancellation fees and liability in case of undeclared cancellation
Please note that if the guide refuses your participation on the day of the tour due to a false declaration of your health condition or undeclared significant chronic illness or physical condition, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 1001 TP3T on the day of the tour.*The organizer (guide) will not be responsible for any injury, onset, or accident during the tour caused by a chronic illness or physical condition that was not self-reported in advance.
In the event that a warning is issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency, Shiratani Unsui Gorge or Yakusugiland is closed, or the prefectural road to the entrance is closed, the tour will be cancelled and a 100% refund will be given. Even if no warning is issued, a 100% refund will be given if the tour is canceled on the morning of the day before the tour.
*If the tour starts and the weather turns bad during the tour, or if the guide determines that the tour cannot be carried out safely due to the participant's physical condition or lack of stamina, the tour will be deemed to be carried out and the tour fee will not be refunded.
About Disability Insurance
*This tour is covered by the following insurance (Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance) in case of any accidents. The insurance fee is included in the participation fee.
Personal Accident Insurance (compensation for customer injuries)
Death and permanent disability: 5 million yen
Daily hospitalization insurance benefit: 5,000 yen
Daily hospital visit insurance benefit: 3,000 yen
Surgical operation: 5 to 10 times the daily amount of hospitalizationLiability insurance (compensation for negligence on the part of the guide)
Payment limit: 100 million yen*Coverage is only for injuries caused by accidents during the tour.
*Occurrence of illness due to pre-existing conditions and damage to or loss of personal belongings are not covered.

About Rental Items
*If you wish to rent trekking shoes, rain wear, backpacks, and poles, you can stop by the rental store on the same day.
