What is Yakushima Fruit Garden?
Yakushima Fruit Garden is a botanical garden where tropical fruits can be observed, located about 50 minutes by car from Yakushima Airport, where about 2,000 varieties of tropical plants and tropical fruits, both wild and horticultural, are cultivated.
Visitors can enjoy the sweet aroma of bananas, mangoes, and other familiar fruits, as well as many rare varieties from around the world, while enjoying the tropical atmosphere.
At the Fruit Hermitage, a rest stop, visitors can sample freshly picked fruits such as bananas, mangos, and pineapples.
Fruit juices and handmade jams produced by the facility's wife and goods are also available for sale.
The park is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and is open year-round, so you can use the park without worrying about holidays.
The staff is not only knowledgeable but also very pleasant, making this a tourist attraction that I would visit again.
How to get to Yakushima Fruit Garden
Yakushima Fruit Garden is located in the southern part of Yakushima Island, about 1 hour and 10 minutes by car from Miyanoura Port and 50 minutes by car from Yakushima Airport.
If you are coming from the west, take Route 78; from the east, take Route 77 south along the ocean.
Continuing upstream along the Nakanokawa River, you will reach the Yakushima Fruit Garden.
