Yakushima-Oura Onsen
What is Oura Hot Spring?
Oura Onsen is now more like a public bathhouse than a hot spring.
It is located on the northern side of Yakushima.
It is more like a place of relaxation where local people gather to spend time together.
However, although Oura Onsen is not a large place in terms of baths, you can see the ocean all around you while bathing, and the ocean view is great.
It is especially recommended when the weather is nice and sunny. The atmosphere is such that you will feel like you could stay in the bath forever. It seems as if all your usual tiredness and worries will blow away.
Oura Onsen also has karaoke and TVs, so you can not only enjoy the hot springs but also relax for a while.
It may be fun to spend a time that you would not normally enjoy.
Directions to Oura Onsen
Oura Onsen is located approximately 20 minutes by car from Miyanoura Port.
With the ocean on your right, take Prefectural Route 78 in a northwesterly direction.
Follow the road for a while and when you see Egaono on your left, turn right at the second intersection.
Continue along the road and you will arrive at Oura Hot Springs.
