Awa River Tour

At first, I was a little nervous about standing on the board, but thanks to the friendly instruction, I got used to it right away. The current of the Awa River was gentle, and the deep green scenery I saw from the water’s surface was truly magnificent… As I glided along slowly, listening to the birds singing, I could feel the fatigue of everyday life just melt away. I even got some photos for free—it was a tour I thoroughly enjoyed.

First, we went river kayaking on the Awa River, leisurely gliding across the calm waters while taking in the rich natural beauty of Yakushima. Next, we enjoyed a delicious lunch, and in the afternoon, we tried our hand at a trial dive at the beach. Finally, we had a wonderful time swimming among the colorful fish in the ocean, allowing us to fully experience both the mountains and the sea in a single day. We also received some fantastic photos taken with a 360-degree camera, making it a truly fulfilling tour.

Kayaking on the Awa River was seriously amazing lol. Seeing the World Heritage-listed nature from the water was so emotional—it really got me hyped! The photos taken with the 360-degree camera turned out awesome, and my friends and I had the time of our lives lol. If you’re going to Yakushima, you absolutely have to do this lol.

We used this service for a trip with my husband, and it turned into the best memory ever. Walking through the moss-covered forest of Shiratani Unsuikyo together and then leisurely kayaking down the Awa River in the afternoon was pure bliss♪ The boxed lunch was delicious, too, and my husband was all smiles the whole time. We were able to fully enjoy the great outdoors of Yakushima, making it a truly satisfying date.

The kayaking experience on the Awa River offers great value for the price. You can really feel close to nature, and the complimentary 360-degree photos are a fun bonus. That said, if I had to point out one thing, paddling does require a bit of physical effort, so people who don’t exercise regularly might find it a little tiring. I was satisfied with the overall organization and the guide’s instructions.
