Yakushima Trekking Tour

Although I was traveling alone, the certified guide was very friendly and chatted with me, so I was able to enjoy the long trek without feeling lonely. The emotion I felt when I stood face-to-face with the Jomon Sugi—a tree I’d always dreamed of seeing—was indescribable, and I spent a truly luxurious day completely immersed in the deep forests of Yakushima.

The certified PRO guide was incredibly knowledgeable, and his explanations about the plants and history along the way were very educational. Although it was a long trek, thanks to the well-timed breaks and careful pacing, we were able to safely reach the Jomon Sugi. I was simply moved by its overwhelming presence.

I took on Mt. Miyanoura, the highest peak in Kyushu. Since it was a private tour, the guide adjusted the pace to suit me, which was a big help, but as you’d expect from one of Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains, it was quite a challenging climb. I got a little worn out toward the end, so I’ll give it 4 stars. The views were spectacular.

The Jomon Sugi trek was seriously amazing lol. It was a long hike, but our guide was so funny that I was laughing the whole time! When I finally saw the Jomon Sugi I’d been dreaming of, it was so huge that I was genuinely moved, and we even got snacks—the whole experience was absolutely the best!

It was a private parent-child tour with my son, who has little mountaineering experience, but we were able to successfully reach the summit of Mt. Miyanoura. It was a great help that you adjusted the pace to suit us without pushing us too hard. On the day of the tour, we were captivated by the cloudless blue sky and the rhododendrons in full bloom. I’m truly grateful for the guide’s explanations about Yakushima and the valuable experience of playing in the river. Thank you very much.

Miyanoura-dake is a must for mountaineering enthusiasts! Since it was a private tour, I could climb at my own pace and the panoramic view from the top of the mountain was beautiful beyond words! Thanks to our guide, it was the best eco-trekking experience ever!
