About Yakushima Useful Plant Research Park
Yakushima Useful Plants Research Park is a botanical garden located 25 minutes by car from Yakushima Airport.
Visitors can appreciate fruits, subtropical flowers, herbs, medicinal plants, and other rare plants while taking a leisurely stroll along the promenade set up on the large grounds totaling approximately 100,000 square meters.
Inside a large greenhouse, bananas are grown and the sweet aroma of the facility makes you feel like you are in the tropics.
Visitors can also view the Toloki Falls falling directly into the ocean and sample seasonal fruits.
Freshly picked fruit can also be enjoyed at the adjacent restaurant and store.
It is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from March to September and from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from October to February, and is open year-round, making it possible to visit the park without worrying about when it is closed.

Yakushima Useful Plant Research Park is located about 40 minutes by car from Miyanoura Port.
Exit Miyanoura Port and head south along Route 77.
After a short distance, you will see Yakushima Useful Plant Research Park on your left.
